Description
Dad and I came up with the general idea
for this film, during one of our plot discussions. It was supposed to
be set up sort of like a commercial, but it ended up being longer than
I expected. I think the editing is the weakest part of the film right
now, but I'm pleased with Alex's acting. I hope the plot is clear enough.
A couple people said that it took a while for them to understand it...
"A Step Ahead" was filmed shortly after my purchase of a SGM-X
external microphone. And it was edited shortly after my purchase of Final
Cut Pro 4. So, in this movie, I fooled around a lot with audio, and FCP's
color correction. The problem is, I'm using a camera that does very poorly
in low light. So indoors, the color looks very desaturated- so I didn't
have much to work with once I got into color correction. The title was
made with LiveType, another new program, which came with FCP. I think
it's pretty cool, but manual keyframes in LiveType still confuse me.
